Special Issue with Internet Explorer 9 PDF Print E-mail

Many people use the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to reach our NRPC website.  We have noticed a strange issue with version 9 of IE.  People have been reporting that they are not able to get to portions of the Members Only section even though they are logged on.

With IE9 if you try to visit a Members-Only page when you're not logged in, IE will cache the failure page.  But then if you log in and try to visit that Members-Only page again, IE draws from its cache, so you still see "Not Allowed".

If you do not want to use a different browser (like IE8 or Firefox), then here is a workaround solution.

A solution is click to any public page (say the home page), then open Internet Options (click the "gear" icon in the top right of the IE window). In the window that pops up, click on the "General" tab: you'll see a "Browsing history" section about 1/3 of the way down the window - click the "Delete. browsing history on exit" button in that section.

After you click on the "Delete" button in Internet Options, a "Delete Browsing History" window will pop up with a number of checkboxes offering different types of browsing history to delete: make sure that "Temporary Internet files" is checked and the other boxes are not checked, then click the "Delete" button at the bottom of that window.
