James Bagnall, a business reporter with the Ottawa Citizen who has written extensively on the Nortel insolvency, has published a book on the last days of Nortel titled "100 Days: The rush to judgment that killed Nortel". No other reporter has his depth of knowledge, kept the Nortel case in the news, or constantly referenced the plight of pensioners. For the information of members, we have included the link to an excerpt of the book and a link to the Amazon site. The book should also be available through your public library.

Due to the continued refusal of Industry Minister Paradis to have the government address the issue of interest after the filing for CCAA protection, we are stepping up our letter-writing and media campaign.
The member kits were e-mailed and sent by postal mail to those with out internet facilities this weekend. An Open Letter appeared in The Hill Times on April 15. A letter from Don Sproule outlining the urgency of this campaign and the detailed instructions are available to members here.

Although the NRPC does not promote one political party over another, you may appreciate this NDP video where Gladys Comeau, one of our most active NRPC members, is interviewed about our plight. Gladys can be seen at the 16 seconds into the video and then again from 8 minutes 32 seconds until 8:58 and again at the 11:00 minute mark.
Gladys is a stellar worker on behalf of the Nortel retirees, having appeared before the Finance and INDU Committees and writes on a regular basis to all Ministers and MPs who may be able to assist us to gain some justice in this insolvency. Her reach includes the CEOs of several major financial institutions where she has called them to task over the role they have played in the junk bonds issue. Thanks to her efforts, they know that our concerns have not gone away and we will continue until justice prevails.
